Case Study at a School for Children with Special Needs in Bhuj

Working with an NGO school in Bhuj (Gujarat, India); We witnessed how vocational students of this school can specialize in traditional art forms, such as Lippan Art, with the right training. This specialization enhances the value of their work and boosts their proficiency. We are streamlining their production processes, and working towards facilitating them with successful careers in their product specialization.

Our program’s success relies on thorough organization and curriculum development, hands-on training, and support.

Addressing the Challenge:
A persistent problem arose in their vocational program, where specially-abled students were acquiring skills of limited economic significance, leading to difficulties in sustaining these programs.
They would work on products such as Raakhis, Door Decor, Envelops, that had small profit margins, hence not allowing the students to make a decent living.

In response to this pressing issue, “Made By Special” conducted a thorough assessment of each student’s skill set.
We subsequently developed a product line featuring artistic items such as Lippan Art frames, Traditional Print Covers for Laptops and Tablets, Bath Kits, and Wire Trees and conducted consultations and workshops to transform the program.
These products not only engage the students but also provide them with valuable skills, enabling them to earn a sustainable income through their creative talents, yielding higher profit margins.
